Is there a way to start an UMTS session fron trinity installed on Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric ?) ?

I tried 'umtsmon' which worked well, but - on 11.10 - although it recognizes the modem and the

network, it is unable to start the ppp session - I can't understand why.
