Tim, Darrell,
Other than a few hiccups, the build with tqtinterface and libart_lgpl in /usr
has run fairly smooth. I did just run into another issue with kpowersave at 96%
which looks like another ldconfig issue. The problem here is I didn't have any
ldconfig or issues with kpowersave prior to the tqtinterface move to /usr. Is
there something we can do with cmake that will help prevent the "I can't find
the library issue?"
The failure is libdbus-tqt-1 and it is in the same location it has been all
along with correct package config information:
[23:44 nirvana:/mnt/nv1/home/chroot/david/opt/trinity/lib/pkgconfig] # cat
dbus-1-tqt.pc
prefix=/opt/trinity
exec_prefix=${prefix}
libdir=${prefix}/lib
includedir=${prefix}/include/dbus-1-tqt

Description: DBUS bindings for the Trinity Qt [TQt] interface
Version: 0.9.0
Libs: -L${libdir} -ldbus-1-tqt

[23:44 nirvana:/mnt/nv1/home/chroot/david/opt/trinity/lib/pkgconfig] # cat

prefix=/opt/trinity
exec_prefix=${prefix}
libdir=${prefix}/lib
includedir=${prefix}/include
Name: dbus-tqt-1
Description: D-BUS TQt bindings

Requires: dbus-1
Libs: -L${libdir} -ldbus-tqt-1 -ldbus-1 -lpthread -lrt
Cflags: -I${includedir} -I${includedir}/dbus-1.0
(NOTE: why is the package name dbus-tqt, while the pkg-config 'Name:
dbus-tqt-1'? Could this be causing the error?)
Further, below, the error shows that -L/opt/tqt3/lib is pull in before the
dbus-tqt 'Libs:' string instead of /opt/trinity/lib specified in the dbus-tqt.pc
file (above):
-L/opt/tqt3/lib -ldbus-tqt-1 -ldbus-1 -lpthread -lrt /
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
<according to the dbus-tqt.pc it should be:>
-L/opt/trinity/lib -ldbus-tqt-1 -ldbus-1 -lpthread -lrt /
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
But the error I get says it getting '-L/opt/tqt3/lib -ldbus-tqt-1':

Looking at the -ldbus-tqt-1 designation - it is one of the few that does not
have the full path information. Where is that supposed to come from if not from
the pkg-config results? The pkg-config lib results are correct, so what's up?

I have a patch available to update ktorrent from 2.2.6 to 2.2.8. The patch is available in bug report 363 (http://bugs.pearsoncomputing.net/show_bug.cgi?id=363).
The patch is in tar.gz format because the bug tracker won't allow a patch larger than 1MB.
Patch created by comparing original 2.2.6 to 2.2.7 sources and then original 2.2.7 to 2.2.8 sources. Then adjusted for TQt layer.
According to the ktorrent change log, there were only a few patches from 2.2.6 to 2.2.8. The attached patch matches those change log descriptions.
With the patch ktorrent builds with no failures on Slackware 13.1.
I would be grateful if other users would test the patch. If no further problems then I'll push to GIT. :)

All,
I need help, or a link, to find out why libtool isn't working. I have also
posted to the arch list in case this is libtool itself. libtool is attempting to
use an undeclared variable as a command. The libtool file generated includes
(beginning at line 2071):
# func_to_tool_file ARG LAZY
# converts the file name ARG from $build format to toolchain format. Return
# result in func_to_tool_file_result. If the conversion in use is listed
# in (the comma separated) LAZY, no conversion takes place.
func_to_tool_file ()
{
$opt_debug
case ,$2, in
*,"$to_tool_file_cmd",*)
func_to_tool_file_result=$1
;;
*)
$to_tool_file_cmd "$1"
func_to_tool_file_result=$func_to_host_file_result
;;
esac
}
# end func_to_tool_file
The tdeutils build fails at make on the very first file. The line that fails
is line 2083:
2083| $to_tool_file_cmd "$1"
The problem is '$to_tool_file_cmd' is never declared in 'libtool' resulting in
the error:
../libtool: line 2083: ark_part.cpp: command not found
Basically, libtool is trying to execute 'ark_part.cpp' as the command since
'$to_tool_file_cmd' is never declared or initialized and is just blank in the
command '$to_tool_file_cmd "$1"'.
What I need to learn is whether this is a libtool problem or whether it is a
tdeutils problem. tdeutils from the same source builds fine on slack, debian,
etc.., so I wonder if this is a libtool version problem or something similar.
I am building in an arch chroot and he PKGBUILD file used does:
cd ${srcdir}/${pkgname#*-}
cp /usr/share/aclocal/libtool.m4 ./admin
cp /usr/share/libtool/config/ltmain.sh ./admin
make -f admin/Makefile.common
./configure \
--prefix=${TDEDIR} \
--with-qt-dir=${QTDIR} \
--sysconfdir=/etc \
--localstatedir=/var \
--enable-debug=full \
--enable-closure
make
The complete error, which I don't fully understand is:
/bin/sh ../libtool --tag=CXX --mode=compile g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I..
-D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE -I/opt/trinity/include -I/opt/tqt3/include -I. -include

-D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500 -D_BSD_SOURCE -Wcast-align -Wchar-subscripts -Wall -W
-Wpointer-arith -fno-builtin -g3 -fno-inline -march=x86-64 -mtune=generic -O2
-pipe -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2
-Wformat-security -Wmissing-format-attribute -Wno-non-virtual-dtor
-fno-exceptions -fno-check-new -fno-common -I/usr/include/tqt
-DQT_CLEAN_NAMESPACE -DQT_NO_ASCII_CAST -DQT_NO_STL -DQT_NO_COMPAT
-DQT_NO_TRANSLATION -MT ark_part.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/ark_part.Tpo -c -o
ark_part.lo ark_part.cpp
../libtool: line 2083: ark_part.cpp: command not found
I have also tried 'make SHELL=/bin/bash' after googling that the environment
could cause shell extension issues if part was done with bash and make was using
sh, but that made no difference.
Anybody familiar with libtool know if this is a libtool problem or if this is
a problem with the tdeutil code? If it is libtool, any work-arounds?

Tim, Serghei, Darrell,
After moving tqtinterface and libart_lgpl to /usr to facilitate build of
tdeutils, tdebase fails to build. This looks like a cmake error:

The strange part is both tde-config and libtdecore.so.4 are right where they

Is there some path disconnect in installing tqtinterface to /usr that causes
problem with tdebase finding tde-config as installed by tdelibs in /opt?

Hey all,
My laptop is in for some basic repairs. I will get it back next friday
the 23rd.
I will be answering emails but only vaguely on my mobile phone
Thanks!
Hi all,
I've been having huge delays(5-15min) updating my package sources from
Trinity's servers. What kind of network is supporting it? This has been
going on for a while.
Best regards,
Tiago
Tim, Serghei,
When building TDE packages, if the cmake files do not properly find includes,
what is the proper way to tell cmake where the include is? The cmake site says
to use the CMAKE_INCLUDE_PATH environment variable. So I try:
export CMAKE_INCLUDE_PATH=/usr/include/apr-1
The TDE cmake setup seems to totally ignore this variable:
[ 0%] Building CXX object src/svnqt/CMakeFiles/svnqt.dir/apr.cpp.o

My apr_general.h is in /usr/include/apr-1 not in "-I/usr/include/apr-1.0" that
the cmake files include.
My pkgconfig file for apr is correct as well:
21:19 nirvana:~/tde> cat /usr/lib/pkgconfig/apr-1.pc
prefix=/usr
exec_prefix=${prefix}
libdir=${exec_prefix}/lib
APR_MAJOR_VERSION=1
includedir=/usr/include/apr-1

Libs: -L${libdir} -lapr-${APR_MAJOR_VERSION} -luuid -lrt -lcrypt -lpthread -ldl
Cflags: -D_REENTRANT -D_GNU_SOURCE -pthread -I${includedir}
Where is cmake getting the extra '.0' it tacks on the end of the include path?
How to fix?

will be playing. We will be at the lake until Sunday (no internet). So I'm not
ignoring you... :)
