Bug report 756: Konqueror: Does not update file pane with file changes

Good news! I found a one-liner patch and now am no longer seeing problems with Konqueror updating file information. I posted the complete story in the bug report: http://bugs.pearsoncomputing.net/show_bug.cgi?id=756 I attached the patch to the bug report. Simply put: the patch works. What a joy to see the file pane update immediately! The patch should back port to 3.5.13. Please test! :) :) :) :) Darrell

Massive Build Failures on Arch - 13 prior building packages FAIL

Frustrating, yes, but understanding the failures will probably disclose weaknesses in the codebase. I'll put time into trying to narrow down what broke. You guys that are build wizards, please let me know if you see, or know of, a common thread that may have been pulled in with gcc 4.7 that may be the base of the build problem. -- David C. Is TDEDIRS broken?

I notice files installed in my additional TDEDIRS directory are being ignored. Would somebody else confirm this behavior? My additional directory is placed first in the TDEDIRS variable string: TDEDIR=/opt/trinity TDEDIRS=/usr/local/tde-mods:/opt/trinity I noticed this behavior a while ago because various mimetypes were not working as I reconfigured. Yesterday investigated further. I have Xfce installed on this system. I seldom use Xfce and even then only for comparative purposes. Yet yesterday, having "Mousepad" in my Konqueror popup menu for text editors finally rankled me. I copied the desktop file from /usr/share/applications to /usr/local/tde-mods/share/applications. In the mousepad.desktop file I added OnlyShowIn=XFCE;. I restarted the session and Mousepad remained in the popup menu. Curious, I edited the desktop file in /usr/share/applications, restarted the session, and Mousepad no longer populated the popup menu. Therefore TDE is recognizing the OnlyShowIn directive, but not those in my secondary TDEDIRS directory. Seems something is awry with using TDEDIRS. At this point I don't know whether the problem is me or the code. This same process works as expected in my KDE3 setup, (albeit using KDEDIRS). I appreciate further insight and help. Darrell

More SAK Challenges

When I boot into my virtual machine running TDE in graphical login mode, I am prompted to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to login. I have UseSAK=false in tdmrc. I have the same identical tdmrc in my physical machine and am not prompted to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete. What is TDM keying off of to generate the SAK prompt despite SAK being disabled? Darrell

Building avahi-tqt

What is: libtool: install: error: relink `foo' with the above command before installing it?

All, Help? One of the side effects of the gcc 4.7 move is an install error in several packages of the form (gwenview example): /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ltdeinit_gwenview collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status libtool: install: error: relink `gwenview.la' with the above command before installing it Why would I have to relink anything during 'install' ?? Why doesn't it do it?? Need cmake help please

In tdelibs/kdoctools/CMakeLists.txt, I added the following: include( ConfigureChecks.cmake ) In that same directory I created two files: ConfigureChecks.cmake update-entities.sh The update-entities.sh script never executes. The script works --- I can run manually just fine.
