Error - artsmessage: Sound server fatal error: cpu overload, aborting This message pops up on session login, and repeats if dismissed. How can I make it go away and stay away? Hi trying to build for bookworm - probably I am doing something wrong again here. Can you help, please. On Bullseye I had to disable this because it was failing for other dependency while trying to install after build. What is the issue with this package and what is it good for? Check TDE to see if the kate session->rename bug exists

TDE devs, While working in openSUSE's KDE3 I ran across an obscure kate session rename bug that I'd like to have somebody check on TDE to see if it exists here (I suspect it does). To check if the bug exits, open kate and open a couple of files. Now save the session: Sessions -> Save give it a name and then close kate. (not sure if you need to close it, but let's check the entire process) Launch kate again and choose to open the session you just saved. Now attempt to rename it with: Sessions -> Manage... (highlight current name) -> Rename The new name will appear in the session list, but if you note in the titlebar, the current session is not renamed and when you close the session, the new name is lost from the session-list. As a work-around you can use Session -> Save As, but it is curious the rename just fails. If you confirm it on TDE, let me know and I'll write it up. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

discord web-interface in FF locks ALSA - discord app - fine

While I'm dropping by, This may already be fixed on TDE, but openSUSE's KDE3 has an issue where running discord in FF captures socket used by ALSA and kills the KDE3 system sounds. Closing the tab releases the socket and restore everything as it should be. Instead of using the discord web-interface, using the Linux desktop app, has no problem and the KDE3 sounds continue right on playing. If you want to test on TDE, just open the discord web-app in firefox. You can confirm the issue (well, your sound-theme would die...) by checking with aplay, e.g. $ aplay somefile.wav ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1032:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave aplay: main:831: audio open error: Device or resource busy I note here as I don't know if this is FF, or a base ALSA or KDE/TDE issue. If you patched for it, we may need to cherry-pick the commit. Keep up the great work all! -- David C.
