I'll try this in the dev/test env I'm using.
I am pragmatic and I don't mess up with the system I work on, because I'm sick of not being able to do something I was used to do before. Of course with TDE the risk is really low, but still, I won't run the code I've written on my productive system for the first time. This is my philosophy and has turned to be right over the years.

As already mentioned exactly Lisi, the preliminary stable builds are not like the Debian "testing" - it would be apposite to compare them to the Debian "stable-proposed-updates":

About dependencies: because packages are built over the preliminary stable builds repository, individual packages may require a versions from the preliminary stable builds repository.
