OK, there is a new option in the icon control center panel under the Advanced tab to disable the icon activation effect.
You are one awesome programmer! I wish I had your skills and ability to sniff the entire KDE code like you. :)
I plan to run a complete fresh build run later today. About six hours total. I then will be able to test the latest improvements.
