at the moment i am setting up a new school server

the last install was a debian 6 install where the package names still where the same as

but now with jessie this has changed.
so i am asking the devs that might know what i have to change in the debian so that it
works again to use trinity desktop

Honestly I do not know, but I would give "desktop=tde" a try ;-)
I don't know Debian Edu but on reading up about it, the session names
come from /usr/share/xsession/*.desktop. ksmserver-trinity installs
trinity.desktop in that directory so I think perhaps desktop=trinity.
To get Trinity r14 installed in the first place it might be necessary to
add tde-trinity to the Debian Edu pre-seed file. Pre-seeding is something
else I've not played with but the Wheezy instructions hopefully still
work:
https://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/Documentation/Wheezy/Installation
Hope this helps
