I've got the same thoughts sometimes: to port
kicker, kdesktop and
keramik style to kde4 and there will be no need in trinity. I've even
tried to start several times to port kicker and keramik... But all this
have gone nowhere...
just for the record: kicker was already more or less ported to Qt4 at the
time it got replaced by Plasma. It was in the source code till October 2007
[1], just a few months prior to the 4.0 release. So it would be a good idea
starting from this point.
And I personally agree on that this would be a better approach for Trinity
from a maintenance point of view as I have pointed out a few times in the
past ;-)
