Actually TDE on FreeBSD works quite nice :-)
There are ony 2 things I have not working right now:
- Shutting down the computer from TDE logout - but that's a feature
I never use, I configured every notebook to shut down on lid close.
- storage media are not mounted correctly via HAL. This may or may
not be a problem of my configuration, as I have "automount" installed for handling my storage media, but I think I have to look at the code and figure out what goes wrong (I'll post what goes wrong later - when I understand what actually happens).

Hi Nik, It's been a longtime since installing freebsd, at that time I installed a few different bsd's, after your post I started reading release notes and comparing other bsd's and it looks like freebsd is the way to go when the time comes that I stop testing debian/devuan and settle on a single distro, at that time ease of installation will not be a factor as it is now, also Slackware is another option to consider.
Thank you,
Some people have made packages and/or build scripts for Slackware over time, here are those I've been aware of:
- https://sourceforge.net/projects/tde-slackware
- http://www.inpito.org/trinity.php

I'm pretty busy but wanted to reply.
I will do a install when I have time and the mood strikes me as I would like to see TDE on a slack desktop.
What I would really like to see is slack ported to debian, because I have disability's that interfere with my keyboarding. With one person or more porting and my testing, if it is possible, I don't think it would take long. I should talk to Patrick about this. Patrick is a friend who has personally installed slack on one of my laptops, we have not talked for a long while and I need to see if we are, as the saying goes, on the same page.
Thank you Gregory for your post.
