I just wanted to ask whether you thought about it and
maybe
even someone gave
a try to run Trinity with KWin 4. I really would like to
see this happen and I
think you and most important your users would benefit from
that :-)
Hi Martin,
My observations:
Currently Tim is busy with the sudden loss of server mirrors, SVN to GIT transition, and
the TDE renaming project. He is busy --- swamped. He is the project lead but I won't
be surprised if he does no testing of kwin4 for several months. :)
When the GIT transition and renaming project are completed, there will be a huge effort to
merge patches sitting in wait in the bugzilla. Then there will be a lot of building and
testing to ensure all merged patches function for all distros and users.
Then there will be a huge effort to focus on significant bugs that need attention for the
next release.
Possibly somebody in the TDE community might start testing and provide reports, but for
the developers and packagers our immediate goals are GIT, renaming project, web site
improvements, and bugs. Thus, other than individuals, any possible team testing of kwin4
likely would happen after the next release, tentatively in May.
Just sharing my observations --- I have no official capacity to represent opinions of
others on the team. :)
