The original code is obviously very dependent on the distribution. New (general) seems to be ok. Version dependent on the distribution may be as a patch in the tde-packaging. Therefore, I propose to push it to the GIT. Any objections?
As long as you push a reverse patch into tde-packaging for Debian and Ubuntu I have no problems with this patch.
