Confirmed, just tested sftp:// and media:/ in Dolphin on TDE 3.5.13, both
work. Those always gave me an unkown protocol error in KDE 3.5.10.

doesn't integrate with kio
slaves.
Wrong, Dolphin use kioslaves, you can use sftp with it, for example.
