Sorry it was indeed 4.8. Which is quite nice by the way :) looking through
KDE4 was just as much of a pain as Trinity. In comparison XFCE and GNOME
offer less configuration so I had less of an issue there.

My recommendation would still be to stick as much as possible to 4.8 given
that most users will go either from KDE to Trinity or the other way around.
Also lots of work went into it and you can just save the time :-)
Of course not all settings will match given that Trinity ships obsoleted KCMs
and KDE added new KCMs. But the general structure should work nevertheless.
As I read in another mail: don't try to reorganize the settings inside the
KCMs. It is much work and some KCMs are really old (befor .ui files existed).
I saw such a case listed for a KWin module where I know that it does not have
ui files. That's the reason why the KCM is identical in KDE 4.x :-)

http://reviewboard.kde.org :-)
