   I see this on my workstation with a flaky USB mouse. 
Do you see
frequent USB device disconnect/reconnect events in dmesg? 
 I'm not seeing anything in the logs. Would you please show me a
 snippet of what you have seen?

I'm not at that machine right now, but it is very obvious in the 
syslog.

I'll have to see if I can replicate on my R14 test box. 
I see nothing obvious in my system logs.

Could the recent patches to use udisks rather than pmount play a 
role in this?
