Ok, have you tried using the admin folder from
Trinity
I've used these steps to get stuff from kdelook to trinity
rm admin -Rvf
cp /my/tde/source/main/common/admin ./ -R
make -f admin/Makefile.common
autoreconf
./configure
make
should make sure it works :-)

Will test and report back. You got a good link for an
autotools/autoconf/automake reference. I have no idea what goes in the /admin
dir... :(
