I am excepting Qt here. My original intent was
to kick out software

relies on ancient, special purpose libraries that cannot feasibly be
"resurrected" and maintained. For example, anything using deprecated
and
removed kernel calls, etc.
If they used removed calls they would not build.
By the way, how do you solve the problem of hal removal? I think we will
be in
necessity to add hal to our KDE3 repo once hal is removed from tha base
system.
