A hypothetical poll for users here....
If TDE were to close down, which desktop would you use instead? You would
be allowed to abandon Linux entirely in this scenario. ;-)
Please state why you have not already switched; i.e. what item are missing
or suboptimal in the other environment.
I am curious as to why TDE still exists and need some concrete examples to
fall back on to counter detractors.
Thanks!

If tde were to close down, I would switch back to fluxbox
Konqueror is a Very good file manager (in trinity the kde4 version is
lacking)
also Amarok 1.4 is another very good reason for me to stay with trinity,
I know clementine would be an alternative as its fairly similar But it
uses more ram is prone to crashing occasionally it lags when told to do
simple operations and just isn't quite up to the standard of amarok 1.4
furthermore trinity is the only full featured DE around that I’ve used
that can
A. do everything I want it to and B. do it at a decent speed
DE's ive used
openbox fluxbox gnome xfce lxde kde4 and trinity
if i was to rate them in order of personal prefrence
Trinity , Fluxbox, Openbox, xfce, Gnome, kde4, lxde
