installed tde + dolphin

(don't think this is necessary, but...) open kcontrol->Desktop->Behavior->[Device Icons] tab

unchecked everything but 'Trash'

'System' and 'Home' icons remained on the desktop.

Click on one. Opens in d3lphin (dolphin)

Frustrated -> remove dolphin from system

Click on one. Opens in konqueror --profile filemanagement

No Longer Frustrated :-)
