When building kdelibs I always receive the following
configure warning:
lua.h was not found or was not usable, Lua 5.0 headers are required !
I see that same warning when I build from the stock KDE and Slackware
build scripts. Obviously the package builds just fine in Slackware, so I'm
just wondering what that warning is all about.

I have no idea. Maybe you should create a new bug on the bugtracker named
"Build cleanup" or something similar, and add all instances of spurious
non-fatal warnings (such as the lua one) to that bug. That way someone
can go through and try to clean up the build system in the future.
