Hi all,
Most of you are probably about to discover that our Etherpad instance
has changed.
(To top that off, linking like this [[2]] no longer works and the tags
view still does not).
There are currently two pads on there (as the rest were dumped): the
Rules and README (shamelessly copied from
etherpad.trinitydesktop.org)
and July Meeting Topics.
Please do not create any more pads right now until linking works
again, otherwise there will be too many duplicates.
Just for information, the destruction of the existing pads was an
unintended consequence of an attempt to upgrade, as the original Etherpad
installation was compiled from an older source tarball and had some nasty
problems. This new instance is built from the latest sources into a
package and then installed on the production server, so the other problems
people had been noticing with the original installation should now be
fixed. Additionally, scheduled backups will commence of the Trinity
Etherpad/source control server, so that this resource continues to be
available even if buggy software destroys the data on the production
machine.
I apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have the remaining features
(tags, etc.) installed shortly.
Tim
Linking is enabled again. Please let me know if you run into any other
missing features that were originally present on the old Etherpad
installation.
This new installation has repaired inline file attachments, so please feel
free to upload sample artwork, sketches, diagrams, patches, or anything
else you feel is related to the pad topic and useful within the narrative.
Also, I have been informed that the twitter style tag search function (the
"tags view" mentioned earlier) will probably never work on the
open-sourced Etherpad versions, so linking is your best bet for
organization. That being said, please feel free to use the twitter style
hash tags in case I feel inclined to repair the search plugin myself. ;)
