This proposition from Darrel seems interesting
and he surely has spent some time thinking about this. Has
any progress been made in this direction?
Best regards,
Not from my end. :)
Getting to know and understand the OpenSuse Docbook environment is at the top of my to-do
list. I want to get the initial bugs out of building from GIT and thereafter I want to
spend my time focusing on how that system works.
After I understand how the system works I then need to become much more familiar with
Quanta Plus in order to have a somewhat palatable environment for editing Docbook files.
I'm hoping after I have a clue about the entire process and I get an initial draft
written for our user guides, we can place the user guides into GIT as Docbook files.
Thereafter anybody can edit and submit patches.
I am willing to act as editor for approving those patches, but anybody who is qualified
can help.
As I mentioned, with respect to end users who want to help and want to use a word
processor, as of about 10 days ago I finally am able to build koffice, which means I now
can study kword and develop a template for such contributors.
Ideally we might be able to have the best of both worlds. I'll need to strap on my
helmet because I'm sure there will be many speed bumps ahead. :)
