The splash images for digikam and showFoto need updating from KDE -> TDE, at the bottom of each image:
GIT locations:
applications/digikam/digikam/data/pics/digikam-splash.png
applications/digikam/digikam/showfoto/pics/showfoto-splash.png
Possibly each respective xcf file too, but I'm thinking we delete the xcf files.
Thanks!
Darrell

That would get rid of the high resolution editable/layered source file. Don't do that! :-)
Perhaps then we need a wiki article how to maintain the xcf files, why we do that, and how to convert to png using our own apps. We should eat our own dog food. I dislike the idea that we need to use gtk apps to maintain our foundations. Just does not set right or feel right. :-)

There is no TDE application that even comes close to the functionality of the GIMP. While I do understand where you are coming from, what you propose would be like Micro$oft shipping low quality graphics because they refused to use Photoshop internally, instead limiting themselves to Paint. :-)

Darrell,
I'll look at them in gimp. The way this works is the .xcf file is the MASTER file. It gets edited, then you can 'export' or 'save a copy' as .png at whatever resolution you need. Gimp is the absolute BEST bitmap graphic tool going - it goes head-to-head with any of the commercial offerings (and wins most of the time)
Well worth making friends with.

Darrell,
The digikam-splash.xcf file is _corrupt_. We will need to find a clean copy. The other xcf, menusidepixmap.xcf is fine. I'll google around. It would make touchup simple to find the actual .xcf.

Darrell,
You should have the updated images from my direct mail account. I can't tell if this one is working. If you don't get both the updated .xcf and .png, let me know. I pulled the original .xcf from sourceforge.

I'm confused with everybody playing catch-up after the server outage.
* I received the updated digikam splash png and xcf. Thank you!
* I did not receive any such files for showfoto. Did you send any?
* I sent you links to xcf files from 3.5.10 hosted at my web site. Are those files corrupt?
