Has anyone gotten these errors after rebuilding Qt3 + tqtinterface? (Qt3 3.5.0, all fresh from GIT) In the meantime, I'm going to go ahead and try building TQt...

The failure looks related to the recent kstyle API changes. I haven't yet seen the failure here, but I haven't tried building in the past several days because of other build failures.

Are you building with TQt3 or Qt3? Also, is there a full build log available anywhere?
Thanks!

I'm personally building with Qt3 and tqtinterface, as I haven't gotten TQt3 to build for me yet. Patches that I use in tdelibs and/or Qt3 defines any TQStyleControlElementData... Nor do I know where it is even defined. http://susepaste.org/28038595

I think I know what happened. As you can probably guess I do all of my development on TQt3, not Qt3. Therefore, I did not add several defines to tqt.h that are needed to build TDE on Qt3. They should now be present in tqtinterface as of GIT hash a1b781f.
Please let me know if this fixes the build failures!

Seems to have fixed this certain build failure - I'll let you know if anything else comes up with tdelibs!

So this is possible? Build tdelibs R14 on top or Qt3(3.5)/tqtinterface? I thought R14 was only buildable on TQt3? Just want to make sure I have it right...

While it might be possible I strongly discourage it, as you will be unable to use any mixed TDE/Qt4 code such as the Qt4/TDE theme engine.
Tim
The last I tried, tdebindings will not build against Qt3.
That's OK, tdebindings has never built for me on Qt3 or TQt3 :)
Might be OK for you but reflects poorly on the project.
With some patching I have been able to build against TQt3 for some time. Currently I can't build any support packages because python-tqt won't build against the recent kstyle API changes.

Sure, will do as soon as I can. In the meantime, there appears to have been some cross-contamination recently as I have just tried a fresh build from git using TQt3 (which builds fine) but tqtinterface fails pretty much immediately with
'/bin/ld: cannot find -lqt-mt'
which obviously isn't right. No, I have not got, nor ever had Qt3 on this system. I'll follow up as soon as I can.
Cheers, Mike.

Oops! Now back at the box in question and I realise that it was not tdelibs that FTBFS but infact Python-tqt, ala bug 1168. My sincere apologies for chiming in incorrectly.
Also, with regard to my comment about tqtinterface, well that now builds again.
Cheers, Mike.

Confirmed: using the latest sources, tdelibs now builds against Qt3.
I can't build tdebase against Qt3 (bug report 1050) or python-tqt against TQt3 (bug report 1168).

Hi Darrell,
Is the Python-tqt FTBFS issue down to Python-tqt or is it TQt3 that is the problem?
MIke.
I can't build tdebase against Qt3 (bug report 1050) or
python-tqt against TQt3 (bug report 1168).
Is the Python-tqt FTBFS issue down to Python-tqt or is it TQt3 that is the problem?
Based upon the error messages, the problem appears to be the recent kstyle API changes. I suspect python-tqt is missing a header include somewhere, or something similar.

Ah yes, the #include of "ntqstyle.h" is missing from './qt/sipqtTQStyleWidgetActionRequestData.cpp' after the configure.
Cheers, Mike.

Good catch. :-)
I now can build python-tqt by patching qt/sipqtTQStyleWidgetActionRequestData.cpp on-the-fly patch in my build script in between the configure and make commands, but I don't know where to patch the sources to ensure the include is created during the configure process.
