tsak applies only to TDM. Open KControl, select System Administration, Login Manager, Appearance tab.
At the bottom will be an option to disable tsak.

Found it! That's what that is for... (kill 688 - worked too :)
While I was in there I noticed the Shutdown Tab/Boot Manager was not set by default. I think it has logic to check and properly set itself. I know it is like that on opensuse. It is what allows you to select which OS to boot next time on shutdown. (handy feature on multi-boot boxes. We will need to make sure that is working...
