Hello,
For anybody who want to test my udisks2 backend and polkit agent, I prepared a live cd based on Fedora 17. The ISO image is a little to big, it needs some cleanup.
The root password is "toor".
http://wifimag.ro/fedora/17/livecd-wifimag-201209081703.iso http://wifimag.ro/fedora/srpms
There is a repo as well, to install on an already installed fedora 17:
http://wifimag.ro/fedora/17/kde3.repo
Have fun :)

I would like to test on Slackware. :-)
Do you have links to the patch set?

Check there: http://wifimag.ro/fedora/sources
Is almost the same code available on https://github.com/serghei , with exception of polkit agent, which must to be refined a little.

Hi Serghei,
I reviewed the glib main loop integration patch and committed it to Qt3 some time ago, however large scale deployment and testing has revealed serious problems. For now, I have simply disabled main loop integration via a configure switch in the TDE builds, however I would like to see the problems fixed so that we can achieve tighter integration with glib/GTK.
I have created a bug report at http://bugs.pearsoncomputing.net/show_bug.cgi?id=1358 which tracks the issues introduced when glib main loop support is enabled. Would you be willing to take a look at it and see if you might be able to fix those problems?
Thanks!
Tim

Hi Tim,
I'm using qt with glib main loop for few months but I did not noticed any problem with KDM. The only serious bug is a kind of endless loop on applications without gui. Maybe is related to your bugs?

Interesting! Do you use the themed greeter or the classic greeter?

Very odd! I wonder what is wrong; I suppose this issue could only affect certain systems and/or glib versions.

No idea. I prepared an installable livecd based on fedora, you can try it in a virtual machine: http://wifimag.ro/fedora/17/livecd-wifimag-201209081703.iso

I was able to track down the issue; you may want to look at my patch and incorporate it into your Qt3 branch: http://git.trinitydesktop.org/cgit/qt3/commit/?id=72eba91414074b25fe9cd227a3...
Hope this helps! :-)

Does the new udisks2 support currently require the Qt glib main loop integration patch?
Thanks!

No, udisks2 backend uses pure dbus calls. The polkit agent is based on libpolkit and needs glib mainloop.
Thanks!
