All I do is launch a session, and the crash handler for the soundserver pops up, every time, on every installation, on every PC, Intel or AMD, at least 10 installations, maybe more.

Try starting tde without any audio apps running. No amarok, no kmix etc. See what happens.
Then try moving all audio related dot file in your users or try a completely blank user. Also, does this happen as root?
