Guys,
I created a new build of 3513, and going through the initial config, I have a couple of problems.
(1) All screensavers are missing. Usually I am used to seeing the following (screenshot from another 3513 install):
http://www.3111skyline.com/dl/dt/trinity/ss/3513-ScrnSav-OK.jpg
but now when I look in kcontrol, all I get is Blank, None and Tux Screensaver. What should I check to figure out why they are not loading? The only failure I find in .xsession-errors that looks relevant is:
Could not load library! Trying exec.... kdeinit: Got EXEC_NEW 'klipper' from launcher. kdeinit: Got EXEC_NEW 'kpowersave' from launcher. Failure: Module initialization failed kdeinit: PID 2975 terminated.
could the kpowersave failure be related to the missing screensavers?
(2) I have 2 'Trash' icons on the desktop. One with the correct icon, one without:
http://www.3111skyline.com/dl/dt/trinity/ss/3513-2Trash.jpg
Additionally, in kcontrol desktop icons, I can't find a checkbox to turn of 'System'. What does this 2-trash setup look like to you?

Should read Blank, Random and Tux...

Basically, the opengl screensavers are not showing up. They did show up previously in both 3.5.12 and R14, but on this install, they are not showing up in 3.5.13-sru. Is there some command that I can run from the cli when launching 'kcmshell screensaver' that might disclose where the failure is?
I am running the *EXACT* same tdelibs and tdebase as I am on another 3513-sru install where the screensavers are fine, so I haven't a clue where this failure may be.
On this particular box, all xorg and x11 libraries are the same as on the working 3513 install, so it isn't xorg/x11 related. This box does have a newer kernel from today, but that's about it. What else is relevant to have kcmshell screensaver load the list of opengl screensavers?

I found the problem, but I cannot explain how it could occur. In the working install, I have:

Blank and random part of kdebase. Next screensavers are part of kdeartwork (on Debian packages kscreensaver-trinity-and kscreensaver-xsavers-trinity). Have you installed packages from kdeartwork?

Slavek,
Thank you. I can't believe I missed it! The build for tdeartwork failed due to signatures on dependencies having expired causing needed perl packages to not install:
checking package integrity... error: perl-lwp-mediatypes: signature from "Justin Davis (juster) -----@gmail.com" is unknown trust error: perl-net-http: signature from "Justin Davis (juster) -----@gmail.com" is unknown trust error: perl-www-robotrules: signature from "Justin Davis (juster) -----@gmail.com" is unknown trust error: perl-libwww: signature from "Justin Davis (juster) -----@gmail.com" is unknown trust error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package) Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
That caused tde-artwork to not be built. At 3:00 it was a forest for the trees issue.

I had two trash where I pulled the previous user profile from KDE3 (collected from many previous versions of KDE) into Trinity. The original trash from KDE3 I simply deleted.

Likely to be a install path issue during compiling. Read my comments in bug report 1178. Remember that KDE/TDE <=3.5.13 used different install path locations than R14.
(2) I have 2 'Trash' icons on the desktop. One with the correct icon, one without:
Remember that both 3.5.13 SRU and R14 use the same $HOME/Desktop directory to store certain desktop icons. Using two different profile directories is a good idea because remember that R14 includes all of the XDG compliance changes. Thus, expect breakage trying to use the same profile between 3.5.13 and R14.

Darrell,
I still did not know what this 2 trash can thing was all about. Before install removed R14 (completely - deleting any stray configs in /opt and deleting any remaining dirs in /opt. Additionally, I delete ~/.trinity and deleted /var/tmp/*. So there was no shread of R14 around when I installed 3513 (I even deleted ~/.config/menus.
My only thought on this one particular box is that it also had enlightenment (E17) installed which uses another similar trash setup. In ~/.local/share/Trash I have:
|storage_serial_ST3500630AS_6QG351C5_1.desktop -> /home/david/.e/e/fileman/favorites/|storage_serial_ST3500630AS_6QG351C5_1.desktop |storage_serial_ST3500630AS_6QG351C5_8.desktop -> /home/david/.e/e/fileman/favorites/|storage_serial_ST3500630AS_6QG351C5_8.desktop
Which explains the separate trash.....
Note: If it has been a while since you looked at enlightenment (E17) as a desktop -- it is really, really been improved and it is rocket fast. It also preloads kde configs on desktop start giving you seamless access to your tde apps :)

In TDE the Trash icon is a built-in. The default fresh TDE profile will display the icon, until configured otherwise in Desktop Behavior. Therefore look for other XDG locations where a Trash icon could be stored.

You are correct here. This is one of those strange update from 3.5.12 -> R14 -> 3.5.13-sru issue. One trash was /opt/trinity based the other was ~/Desktop based. I can't explain either...
