Hi
what should I do to update .gitmodules and the commands so that I get new
submodules checkout. I tried this and that, but can not get the new xdg
portal checked out.

Hi Emanoil,
as long as you check out the latest code of TDE/tde module, the .gitmodules file should be
correct. Then git should be
able to checkout all the changes.
If you want, look also at this script
(https://mirror.git.trinitydesktop.org/gitea/TDE/tde-packaging/src/branch/ma…)
for additional inspiration. I run this one and it updates all local worktrees for me. Of
course it needs some setup
first, but you should already be familiar with my scripts I think.
