Nothing beyond ksnapshot that I know of. It's always been 3rd party apps if you want motion, cursor, etc...

Bummer. I dislike using GTK apps.
recordmydesktop is doable from the command line. There is a pyGTK and pyQt4 wrapper but no pyQt3 wrapper that I am aware.
Any Python gurus here know how difficult a pyQt3 wrapper would be? Current pyQt4 dependencies include Qt>=4.2 and PyQt4>=4.1, the latter equivalent of which would be python-tqt in the Trinity sources.
