Well, something like this isn't a bad idea, but like the kmenu, it
needs to be update. The principle is sound however. One central
location for common, immediate needs, such as internet connection,
look and feel, hardware settings, printers, scanners (?), etc. A
great deal of thought has to be put in to it. There's plenty of time
for that later, after Trinity is stabilized and major porting is
completed. There's no sense in putting the cart before the horse.
I enjoy this idea very much, but I think what would be better is if
we can wield this into the System Settings of Trinity, instead of
keeping and maintaining it separately.
And Kate has a good point. Trinity is in heavy development as we
prepare to make the development jump. But we can put that on a
to-do list, definitely.
As for nothing old enough to run AL 2008.1. I currently have it
running on an i7 based, very complex machine, as well as several other
very complicated current tech machines. Wireless is the only place
I've encountered problems. Come to one of the channels and tell me
what problems you're encountering (the mailinglist isn't the place for
such a discussion), I'd be glad to help.
