As I
found this problem again in the latest release 14.0.10, is there any
possibility
to get the proposed patch upsteam?
The bug makes the use of the Set_GID flag
impossible with konqueror.

Confirmed. Same problem on PCLOS Big Daddy.
I blame society.
Stupid question: Who uses a filemanger to set flags other than rwx?
If a folder has set "Set_GID", you can not change any flags with the upstream
implementation. Use of "Set_GID" is treated as "Advanced
Permissions".
If you have some project groups defined, "Set_GID" is very helpfull to use files
together in such groups. And defining acl's is more intuitive too in a GUI, than in
the command line (IMHO).
