Hi,
I made a new splash screen for TDE, and I wonder if it could be added to the list of available splash screens.
I named it Architecture, and it is not designed to be everyone's taste, because it looks more like what is available for KDE Plasma 5.
System requirement:
-Widescreen monitor (will work on classic monitor, but may look distorded)
-TDE R14.0.2 or newer
-You may use File-Roller to extract it
Have a great day!

Hi Alex, it looks pretty good, at least in the picture. Please create a bug report and attached the same file, so we do not forget about this one. Hopefully from January I will have more time for TDE and start looking at a few pending things that have been waiting way too long. Cheers Michele

Great!
I don't know why, but the TDE bugzilla page can't be loaded for now, so for the moment I'm uploading it here. I changed the resolution of the background picture to full HD, instead of the extra-high resolution I use in Gimp.
We have to remember that the Moodin theme engine was completely broken as of KDE 3.5.10, and now Tim added (for me! Thanks!) a feature to resize properly the background picture to fill the screen, to adapt it to the resolution. It does work, but as I already pointed out in a bug report about Gwenview and KuickShow, the resize picture is not of very good quality.
I think that something could be done to get a high-quality resized picture, probably just changing an argument to the resizing engine. I posted 2 picture, to let you see the difference, and if this problem is solved, it will enhance tremendously the appearance of this splash.
TDM is able to produce a high-quality resized picture, but Gwenview, KuickShow and KSplash Moodin engine can't.
Have a great day! -Alexandre
