Currently JACK is the #1

Not all people are professionals who use jack engine. Some people just
want
to compose a short melody or to teach notes their
children (this also may
be the case of
a school class)
on that note, there are plenty of Jack based audio/MIDI sequencers which
are up to date. Jack is invisible to the basic users, and a real tool for
audio techs.
I am concerned that the sound engine will not be viable for much longer.
