Hey,
when I open anything with konqueror ( eg in a konsole, "konqueror ./" ), it always opens properly, but there is an extra empty tab also open.
anyone seen this behavior?

What does konqueror's default Session Profile look like?
Settings -> Configure View Profiles
It's not happening here on "Konqueror 3.5.10 (Using Trinity 3.5.13.1)".

I never have seen that behavior. My guess is your default konqueror "filemanagement" profile was saved inadvertently that way.

* Open konqueror: kfmclient openProfile filemanagement.
* Select the desired default directory, usually $HOME.
* Ensure no additional tabs are open.
* Select Settings->Save View Profile "filemanagement"...
You might need to restart your Trinity session.

Calvin,
In 3513-sru, konqueror (file manager), rt-click on folder -> Actions -> "Open terminal here" works correctly and does NOT have any extra tab. Are you seeing this in R14? If so, then a bug was introduced somewhere.

Sorry, Maybe I explained poorly. I am talking about the inverse.
start with a terminal, and launch konqueror, not the other way around

In the Konsole I type:
konqueror ~/ konqueror ~/Documents
And in both cases Konqueror correctly opened with one tab => specified folder. Tested on v3.5.13.1 (of course :) )

3513-sru,
Everything works correctly with no extra tabs:
konqueror --profile filemanagement # opens file manager konqueror # opens browser

Works fine in R14 (July 27 build)
Also:
konqueror ~/Documents konqueror ~/Documents/
both work as well (no extra tab). You broke something :)
