For the various groupware functions, does any respective software need to be installed before compiling? Such as kolab, scalix, exchange, wizards, etc?
Should the build fail if any underlying software is not installed and those features are enabled?
I looked in the wiki and did not find anything related to tdepim requirements, but perhaps I missed the page.

The tdepim-tderesources ebuild for Gentoo, which controls the groupware plugins, has no non-TDE dependencies and enables all the plugins unconditionally. Based on that, the groupware software should not be required to build the plugins, but I don't have tdepim installed and haven't actually tested this.
