I just noticed this on Slashdot: http://linux.slashdot.org/story/12/03/29/0025239/munich-has-saved-4m-so-far-...
One of the comments also links to this presentation which looks interesting: https://www.desktopsummit.org/sites/www.desktopsummit.org/files/DS2011_LiMux...
It seems Trinity was the most attractive choice as a KDE 3.5 replacement. It will be interesting to see more of such deployments.

great, I didn't realize that they chose trinity as successor for kde 3.5.10... but there is also the statement: 'using and managing trinity becomes more and more difficult' under 'lessons learned'. maybe they could need some help to consider continuing with R14. evtl. a chance for a commercial contract (which could be a massive boost for trinity development) ?

I hope they send some help our way.

It would be very important to get in contact with these people to know what are the current difficulties they are experiencing.
This is also a big blow back to detractors of the usefulness of the project, as from the presentation they seemed to have chosen Trinity due to both familiarity and low hardware requirements.
I found this page:
http://www.muenchen.de/Rathaus/dir/limux/english/index.html
Anybody want to give a go at contacting them?
Best regards, Tiago
