All, in the last couple of days, Amarok crashes at startup with a SIGABRT error. Before I open a bug report on it, has anyone experienced the same problem? I am using the latest sources on a fresh new build?
Cheers Michele

On Thursday I used Amarok on one of my working machines - Debian 7.x (Wheezy) i386. Now I tried testing machines - Debian 6.x (Squeeze) amd64 and Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty) amd64. No problems observed. All on current versions from my preliminary-stable-builds archive.

Thanks Slavek. I had no problem with Amarok until Friday night/Saturday morning, then from Saturday night it started crashing. In between I had rebuilt a base system (everything up to tdebase). Yesterday I extended the rebuild process and also included Amarok, but even after that it still crashes. How recent are your preliminary-stable-builds?

amarok: pre215+609b1bf2, build date: Mon, 14 Jul 2014 tdelibs: pre815+1bb6f88d, build date: Sat, 26 Jul 2014 tdebase: pre1259+93e690c7, build date: Sun, 27 Jul 2014
On the working machine, on Thursday, it was obviously a bit older tdelibs (pre811) and tdebase (pre1256) :)

No crash here. Any chance you can report a backtrace through Dr. Konqui?
Thanks!
Tim

Slavek, Tim, thanks for the feedback. Tim, I submitted a crash report a couple of days ago, but I just checked the crash report page and I can't find it. I will submit a new one tonight. I haven't looked into the problem yet, but running from console I get a SIGABRT for an invalid pointer in free().
Cheers Michele

Nasty; that's in the JavaScript library. I wonder where that came from all of the sudden?

Perhaps a library upgrade in Jessie. In the last month or two, there has been several FTBFS in Jessie. Some I have already addressed, some are still there (for example: koffice, k3b and tdenetworkmanager).
Should I open a bug report for the amarok crash? I won't be looking at it in the immediate future I reckon, but we will have to fix it before v14.0.0 is out (and the same holds for the other packages I mentioned above).

I guess we'll need to. I know next to nothing about JavaScript, let alone its runtime, so I'm not sure who will be able to fix this.

Ok, done. Bug 2081. Sometimes in the future I will see what I can do about it. I use Amarok a lot, so I want to get it back to work :-)
