at the moment i am setting up a new school server (debain edu) based im jessie the last install was a debian 6 install where the package names still where the same as the kde that was integrated into squeezy so the pxe kernel paramter desktop=kde still worked but now with jessie this has changed.
so i am asking the devs that might know what i have to change in the debian so that it works again to use trinity desktop
thx Mario voluntary sysadmin

Honestly I do not know, but I would give "desktop=tde" a try ;-) Cheers Michele

I don't know Debian Edu but on reading up about it, the session names come from /usr/share/xsession/*.desktop. ksmserver-trinity installs trinity.desktop in that directory so I think perhaps desktop=trinity.
To get Trinity r14 installed in the first place it might be necessary to add tde-trinity to the Debian Edu pre-seed file. Pre-seeding is something else I've not played with but the Wheezy instructions hopefully still work: https://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/Documentation/Wheezy/Installation
Hope this helps

thx for your informations bur cant add it das default desktop for all machines i think it has something to do with tasksel. the desktop=kde will select the correct desktop for the install.
i will make an workaround with a postinstall script that checks the kernel cmdline für desktop=tde and then installs tde based on your install howto
thx Mario
