Has anybody tried to patch the inxi script for TDE?

Nope, but it would be a good idea seeing as we are recognized by freedesktop.org.

I use inxi and TDE but never noticed what inxi has to do with any Desktop environment..

Run 'inxi -F' and notice the Desktop entry in the top line. The script does not test any TDE environment variables but still tests for KDE3.

If you don't file an issue report and provide the developer, me, with the data I need, then of course, I can't make inxi recognize anything that it needs more data to recognize.
One good start is to run this, first, update inxi: inxi -U
if that won't let you update saying unknown option, then do: wget -O $(which inxi) smxi.org/inxi
as root, then run: inxi -xx@ 14
which will create and upload all the data needed to debug a specific issue, unless trinity is using something that the data debugger isn't checking yet, then we have to figure that out.
Don't do that on this thread, I find these things only by pure accident, and won't be checking back, use the inxi issue report. Usually desktops only take a bit of data to get added, but I need all the data because usually it's a cascade of tests for derived things like mate, cinnamon, and trinity.
