Considering how long almost all bug reports sit idle, the reminders are little more than spam.
That is my opinion too. Perhaps a reminder once a month would be good and would not be considered spam.

Changing period seems to me like a good deal. Once a day is really too much. Once a month sounds good.

OK, I changed the default whining job script to only execute on the first of every month. Hopefully this cuts down on everyone's bug spam. :-)
