Hi all,
I am trying to compile kdebase-3.5.13 with cmake. I have already compiled
arts, tqtinterface, qt3 and kdelibs. My problem is moc does not add
constructor/deconstructor and languageChange() function although there is a
declaration for them in the header file which is created by uic. And while
linking shared object I get undefined reference errors for these functions.
Failied part of the build log and nm output is attached.
Does anyone have an idea what I must do?
Thanks in advance.
I'm running a GIT version of TDE.
In the Panel Terminal widget button is an optin called Root Shell. When I select that option I repeatedly receive an error message that the password is incorrect.
This is not a path problem because the same thing happens when I use the full path of /opt/trinity/bin/konsole --type su.
I have no such problems using tdesu or starting a normal konsole and then using su or su - to login in as root.
Can anybody confirm this behavior?
Darrell
Is this possible?
I'm not asking for support. I only want to know whether Trinity will build on older distros. Has anything been done to Trinity that prevents building on older distros? That is, KDE 3.5.10 goes quite a few years back and could still be built today with older distros, but will Trinity build?

Tim, All,
Looking at the git repository under main/dependencies I find both qt3 and
tqt3. The first questions is do we want the build based on tqt3 or qt3? Both
look fairly identical.
Next, there were a number of standard kde and arch patches that were applied
when I was building last year. I am sorting though them to find what has already
made its way into the code. Does anyone have a list of what patches have already
been applied to tqt3? For qt3 we were applying the following:
gcc46-arch.diff
qt-3.3.8-buffered-iconview.patch
qt-3.3.8-eyecandy.patch
qt-3.3.8-fix-qtextedit-vulnerability.diff
qt-3.3.8-xinerama.patch
qt-3.3.8-xinerama-qpopupmenu.diff
qt-3.3.8-xmms-dynamic.patch
qt-copy-kde-patches.tar.bz2
qt-odbc.patch
qt-patches.tar.bz2
qt-png14.patch
I will try to pick through these sets of patches and find out what will and
won't apply any more over the next few days. If this has already been done, then
please STOP ME, I hate reinventing the wheel. If not I'll go forward. It seems
that the standard qt-3.3.8-xxxxx patches should have been committed to the tqt3
source, but that is what I need to discover.
That's where I be... I would appreciate and help or wisdom on the patch issue
if you have it. Thanks

Tim, all,
Is this OK? I have run into this error with the script after cloning the
current repository:

I presume this is OK, but wanted to check before I start down a path with a
messed up clone of the repository. What say the experts?
P.S. - How is the audiofile 3.2 -> 3.3 release and libpng 1.5.8 release
impacting current building?

Hi.
I tried to include 1f39650 commit[1] to QT from Trinity 3.5.13.
Compilation went without problems. But after installing an updated
version of QT began to fall almost all programs.
Please, you have some advice? 1f39650 depends on a previous commits?
Should I report it as a separate bug? Backtrace attached...

enabled This closes Bug 812

After compiling both tdelibs and tdebase i found that the krandrtray (or
trandrtray perhaps) executable is not being built and placed in /usr/bin.
The libraries (libtrandr.so.4 ) appear in place. Is anyone else seeing this?

http://www.trinitydesktop.org/wiki/bin/view/Developers/HowToBuild
The wiki states:
The libwv2.la file provided upstream is broken with respect to automake and
will cause automake to fail. Basically, /usr/lib/libwv2.la is missing a
proper header statement. This should be patched when creating the wv2-0.4.2
package.
I built the latest wv2 source using cmake. When using this package, koffice
build fails at libwv2.la (as mentioned). Does this need patching for cmake
too? If so where does one find the patch?
Koffice crashing after opening template.
When i start some of the koffice apps (kword, kspread) they crash after
opening the default template. Removing the %u from the .desktop files and
provding the full path to the executable seems to work for me.
slackware-13.37 (everything installed in /usr with no KDE4).

I am revising and updating the Trinity documentation. In tdebase/khelpcenter/plugins/ is a desktop file named userguide.desktop.
That file is used to create the table of contents in the Help Center.
Although minor, the file is inconsistent with terminology used everywhere else in TDE.
AS IS:
Name=KDE Users' Manual
CHANGE TO:
Name=TDE User Guide
Changing KDE to TDE is straightforward as well as changing the English text. The challenge is updating all of the other languages to "TDE User Guide."
If somebody wants to help with the documentation and is familiar with using various language translation tools, would you please consider updating this file?
I would be much grateful for the help. Thank you!
