I think you have more than enough choices and variants. More than that

The icon is complicated:
+ rotated looks strangely
+ unrotated does not match the text direction
+ in both cases - there are too many icons on a too small area
(this is well shown in http://bugs.trinitydesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=2087)

In my personal opinion - the sample from the last email (full long name
without logo => sample 8) looks best. Your opinions are welcome.
