Hi all,
Kicker has been crashing on me when I hover the "System" menu on KMenu. It's a Ubuntu 11.10 system, with packages from the sources available on the website.
Can anyone reproduce this? I merely installed "kubuntu-desktop-trinity". Also, this meta package should be pulling kpowersave or something that does power management.
Best regards, Tiago

This rings a bell from a while ago.
I think this was the bug report:
http://bugs.pearsoncomputing.net/show_bug.cgi?id=508
I think this is the patch:

Darrell
This is not with Kickoff. It's the standard menu. I'm also in 3.5.13 and this bug was reported in 3.5.12 and so shipped in 3.5.13?
Best regards, Tiago

Why not use slavek bankos backports for debian/Ubuntu patches? He's included many fixes
The problem was not resolved afaik until after 3.5.13, but I haven't hit the issue with using his tree

Have these patches been merged to GIT? Or is Slavek grabbing the patches from GIT and backporting to 3.5.13?
Darrell
He is backporting patches. I don't know if this specific one was fixed. On Mar 16, 2012 1:08 PM, "Darrell Anderson" humanreadable@yahoo.com wrote:

Yes, I backport patches from GIT, or patches from Bugzilla. A few of my own repairs, I then gave in Bugzilla. (Except perhaps for the repair nowlisten Kopete plugin, which still have to report it.)
However, it might be good to have its own branch in git to which could be included fixes for 3.5.13. They should be better accessible to those who prepare packages for other distributions.

I didn't know they were for Ubuntu. Where can I find this to try it out?

I am preparing updates for Debian Squeeze and also for all currently supported Ubuntu. Instructions on how to use them can be found at:

Many bugs reported in 3.5.12 were not resolved in 3.5.13. At the pace we're going, unless some additional C++ coders step forward to help, many of those bugs might remain unresolved. :(
To which bug report number are you referring?

Thank you. Darrell has posted a link before, so I've included a fix for the upcoming version of the prepared updates.
