To the local image wizards:
The following files eventually will be renamed to chalk*, but they still need branding work, before or after renaming.
/opt/trinity/share/icons/crystalsvg/128x128/mimetypes/krita_kra.png (Deleting the "K" logo will be sufficient)
/opt/trinity/share/icons/kdeclassic/48x48/apps/krita.png (Change the K to C?)
/opt/trinity/share/icons/kdeclassic/48x48/mimetypes/krita_kra.png (Change the K to C?)
/opt/trinity/share/icons/mono/scalable/apps/krita.svgz (Deleting the "K" logo will be sufficient)
Thanks!
Darrell

Thanks. :)

You're going to have to point this one out to me in the GIT tree, because I can't seem to find it.

Attached. I'll try to get to the PNGs as time permits.

Sorry about the delay--this "new job" thing has really been sapping my time (and my energy. Visual Basic .Net, blech.)

Probably just edit the 128 bit file and then I can downscale the remainder here.

Okay, I'll look at that one in the morning. Attached are the two icons from the Classic set. They're not great, but, well, it *sort of* looks like a C . . .

So I was in the right directory, even, and still managed to miss it. Oh, well . . .
Anyway, here's the 128x128 version. Hopefully no one but me will notice that the waves are subtly mis-angled in the lower right corner.

Bobby McGee is happy. :)
Thanks again!

Would you please send me another copy with the word CHALK rather than KRITA in the top? I missed that my first time around. :)
I tried with kolourpaint but I did not get far. :(
Thanks.

I missed it too, so don't feel too bad. ;)
Anyway, requested change attached. I don't guarantee the font matches the original; I used Bitstream Vera Sans Bold.

Those .png icons are a serious pain to retouch--they're not even true pixel art, and I think someone downscaled most of them from larger or vector originals. Which we don't have, of course. :(

The best solution I have found (which is far from ideal of course!) is to use hqx to upscale the largest image available as much as possible. This them becomes the master image, and all the other images are regenerated from it as needed.

We've been doing something like that, using the highest quality image found and then downscaling as needed for the others. :) kiconedit works great for that.

My process was slightly different; I upscaled the image first using a program (hqx) which attempts to get rid of the "jaggies" normally associated with upscaling pixel art. This provides a smoother source image from which to downscale.
Just my $0.02. :-)
