Hi,
Here is a new sidebar theme for amarok, derived from the kubuntu amarok theme. It fits with the new TDEUI. The stock amarok theme is already good, but it would be nice if this one could be added to the list.
Comments are welcome! -Alexandre
Alex, could you post also a screenshot of the original background? Currently amarok crashes on startup on my system and can not see the differences. Cheers Michele

Hi,
By this do you mean that amarok does not work at all on your system?
Okay, on the first screenshot here is the default amarok theme On the second one, it is with the new theme provided on the first message. The third picture is the background of the kubuntu amarok theme. The new theme is derived from this one.
Thank you! -Alexandre

In the original, I like how the headline and the appropriate box for each are optically closed. I also like that the background color of boxes matches the color of the background that the user has set. The new proposal for me it lacks both.
Screenshot from my desktop attached.

Yes, the spacing is bigger than the original theme. It was even bigger in the kubuntu theme, so I already reduced it a lot. I don't see it as a replacement for the default theme; only as another theme available in the list. The default theme is already good.
I like how different your screenshot is from mine. It show how much potential TDE has for theming. Were you a previous BeOS/Haiku user?
-Alexandre
Yes, that's the thing I love on TDE - how much is customizable.
No, BeOS or Haiku I never used. I use KDE since version 0beta4. And so it was natural for me to continue in TDE instead of KDE4. Thanks to KTip I learned about window decoration BII, the principles I liked and since this time I use it. My color theme comes from Solaris, which I also never used :)

It crashes as soon as I start it. I haven't filed a bug report about it yet, since first I need to understand if it is a problem with my system or with Jessie. Would be useful if anyone else using Jessie could add their feedback as well.

I also like the default theme better. But we can add the new theme as an additional one, no problem.

With a temporary dirty hack I got Amarok to work on my system and I could test the new theme. Pushed to Git in commit 51b05a8 as additional theme. Thanks!
