Using the Safely Remove option no longer succeeds. The USB flash icon remains on the
desktop.
The regression was introduced after June 24 as I do not experience the bug from that
package set.

The regression on my system is caused by commit 4ac914fa 2014-07-03. Reversing the patch
resolves the problem.
