Renaming packaging requests on bug tracker

Hello, the bugtracker contains several requests for new applications/packages. But the bug reports have inconsistent titles, and it's not convenient to find them. I suggest we rename them with a prefix, like we did for "build issue", to make them easier to find. E.g. bug #134 that I've discovered today could be renamed "[package request] Mathemagics" François

Libmagic patches

Tim, I see some preparatory patches for moving to libmagic for mime detection. Will these patches cause breakage until completed? If yes, please post something to the list when the conversion is complete or ready for testing. Darrell

tdebase FTBFS caused by commit f4dab230

Tim, commit f4dab230 breaks tdebase. It refers to a popupmenutop.cpp and .h files that do no exists. Reverting to commit 4724b1a is ok to build tdebase. Perhaps you forgot to push the mentioned files. Cheers Michele

Uploading my remaster to trinitydesktop.org (or somewhere else)

Hi everyone, The new release of my PCLinuxOS remaster is ready and I want to upload it somewhere, but I always have the same trouble at each releases: Upload websites are ''Always'' crappy and very slow, and it makes it very disagreeable to upload my remaster. Plus I don't always have access to fast and reliable internet connection. I want to know if there is a way I could upload my remaster directly to trinitydesktop.org, and if it is possible and I'm allowed to do it, how? Thank you very much! -Alexandre

Kate syntax highlighting

I don't know whether this is related to updating kate syntax files, the recent mime commits or something different. Opening shell scripts now often results in no syntax highlighting. Anybody else see this? Darrell

I call it non-official because it doesn't come from the PCLOS team and since it contains software coming from outside of their repos, it is also not supported by them. It only has a special ''permission to exist'' from the PCLinuxOS dev team. It is a complete system that can be used as a LiveDVD or it can be installed (from the LiveDVD). I don't understand part of these two commits. 1) moving the QuickStart and Visual Guide .desktop files from tdebase to tdeaddons, but leaving the main docbook in tdebase. IMO moving the two docbooks to tdeaddons is incorrect. Users may choose to install tdebase but not tdeaddons and in such situation (although unlikely, I concede) both guides would not be available. QuickStart and Visual Guide are basic entry points for new users, so I think we should put them back where they were before (i.e. in tdebase). 2) I don't see the logic of having an option BUILD_TUTORIALS to disable building the tutorials until they have been updated. What about most of the help handbook so? If we follow the same logic, we should disable most of them as well. I propose we remove the option and just build the tutorials, even in incompleted/not fully updated. Cheers Michele

All, Is this project still actively maintained? It appears to have been a while since the last update. Are there any new development goals planned? Would any of you be interested in migrating this to openSUSE Open Build Service to automate the packaging and distribution for multiple distributions? https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Build_Service The reason I ask is because we have some community member in openSUSE that are intentionally using EOL versions of openSUSE to avoid KDE 4 for as long as possible. I would like to make TDE a openSUSE desktop option for them with a OBS repo. This could hopefully help all of you pick up some additional developers as well. Thanks Tim
