As of right now we've raised $200 to cover the replacement chiller. We're
slowly getting there, any other volunteers? :-)
Tim
Hi E. Liddell,
please can you as an expert on graphic look at the new splash screen? It does
not feel good that in the lower right corner is twice logos TDE. What do you
think? Any idea what to do with it?

Thanks

Dear all,
with the (sooner or later) upcoming v14.0.0 release, the standard KSplash default screen has been updated to a more modern look, thanks to Alex Couture's work.
The original splash screen is still available under the name "TDE-Classic".
Cheers

I finally got my Paypal account working again. With this we should be a little closer to replacing that cooler.
Come on everybody, every little helps. It may be a small or big effort for each of us, depending on the individual situation, but all together we can do that. I am sure Tim would not have asked if there was another way to do it.
Please donate and help keeping TDE alive :-)
Cheers

Dear all,
the TDE development team has finally prepared a list of bugs that will be addressed for the release of v14.0.0.
The list is available on the etherpad (http://trinity.etherpad.trinitydesktop.org/39) and on bugszilla as meta bug 2014 (http://bugs.pearsoncomputing.net/show_bug.cgi?id=2014).
If there is a specific bug that you think should be fixed in v14.0.0 and that we have not included, feel free to propose it in the mailing list for consideration. Please keep in mind that such bugs should be blockers/critical or cause major loss of functionality to users.
We are looking at freezing the list in one week time (after 2014/03/19 US time).
The current list of bugs is quite long as you can see, so v14.0.0 will probably not be release before 2-3 additional months of development, based on the resources currently available. Nevertheless we have a soft-freeze in place and so development should be focused mainly on the official bug list.
Cheers

Debian
I have always manually added repos to my sources.list file, in fact the
directions on the Trinity web site mention this.
Installing the trinity-keyring package, an entry is added to
the /etc/apt/sources.d/ dir. This is a duplication and in fact on my
amd64/Wheezy system apt complains about it, from the cli. Could be
minor issue :-) since the packages file is still updated..but, error
messages.
Random thoughts, have the keyring package available for download, on the
install web page, as a way to modify the sources.list file, find a DD
to sponsor the trinity-keyring package in non-free in Debian.
Thank You

Dear all,
in bug 1547 (http://bugs.pearsoncomputing.net/show_bug.cgi?id=1547) I proposed a patch for removing MSN (now obsolete) from Kopete.
I don't use Kopete, so I have no idea if the patch broke some other protocols.
Could some of you who uses Kopete regularly, check that everything else is still ok?
Cheers

David, All,
I've compiled some stats for the archlinux mirror for the duration of it's
existance (only a month or so)
seems promising

All,
I have received several requests to implement some type of translation
framework in order to make submitting translations to TDE easier (this
includes making sure they actually end up in GIT). Apparently the current
process is cumbersome and error prone; I can attest to this as we have at
least one large translations patch languishing in the bugtracker that
cannot be cleanly applied to the current GIT sources.
My question is: what would all you translators like to see out of the
translation framework? Are there any existing open-source services that
you prefer to use and/or might be usable with TDE? I would also like to
know what your preferred workflow is so that I can try to design something
to match.
Thanks!
Tim
All,
The QuickBuild build farm was taken offline this morning and will remain
offline indefinitely. While I realize this pushes R14 release further
out, the cold hard reality is that donations have fallen so much, along
with the bad economy impacting my own finances, that I cannot afford to
keep the build farm running at this time. Finances were already strained
with the Web server upgrade, as the new software required newer hardware
to keep performance at a reasonable level.
My intention was to keep the build farm running until R14 was released,
then see if any donations came in to cover some of the costs. However,
this morning the main chiller was destroyed due to sudden power
brownouts/surges, forcing the build farm offline. As I do not have the
funds to replace this chiller, and with the onset of spring/warmer
temperatures here, I cannot restart the build farm at this time.
I will do my best to bring one builder online for each architecture in the
next few days, but this severe drop in build power will obviously cause
full archive rebuilds to take several months at minimum. As a result we
need to start looking at dropping support for older Ubuntu versions,
though I did not want to take this step as I know some larger deployments
depend on this support.
All other TDE services are not affected at this time.
Sorry for the bad news!
