Tim,
on the main website, there are a couple of things to improve IMO.
1) the link "Bugs" currently points to "https://bugs.trinitydesktop.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=ALL" which will
automatically load a long list of bugs resulting in a long loading time. It would be better if it simply pointed to
"https://bugs.trinitydesktop.org" so the loading time would be shorter and the user could choose by him/herself what to
look for.
2) in the mailing list page https://www.trinitydesktop.org/mailinglist.php, I think the "suggestions" about
High/Moderate/Low traffic could be removed. For example the Dev ML has a higher traffic than the User ML, but the
"suggestions" are saying the opposite.
Just my 2 cents.
Cheers
Michele

Moving right along R14 RC2 has now shipped!
http://trinity-announce.pearsoncomputing.net/?0::31
This means the merge window for R14 FINAL is now OPEN. Please do not
commit patches directly to GIT without review by either me or Slavek.
Patches that change large portions of the source code will not be merged,
but will be deferred for the first R14 SRU.
***Please remember that there will be no further opportunities for the
general userbase to catch regressions introduced by any patches merged in
this window, so make sure you have get it right the first time!***
This merge window will close 12/07/2014 to allow for R14 FINAL build and
release. Please concentrate all efforts on the unresolved bugs blocking
Bug 2014.
Thanks!
Tim

Tim, Slavek,
can the attached patch be pushed? It updates the Release Notes document to mirror the one on the Etherpad and include
the major changes stated in the Release Notes webpage on the TDE site.
Cheers
Michele
Tim,
can I push the attached patch? It fixes the installation of kcontrol module handbooks in tdenetwork in Debian/Ubuntu,
which are currently not installed. The patch is for the packaging repo.
Cheers
Michele
Tim,
shouldn't TDE be freedesktop.org compliant by now? I wonder why it is not listed in the freedesktop.org desktop list.
Any idea? Perhaps we need to "remind" them?
Cheers

All,
With TDE R14.0.0 RC2 just around the corner I need some assistance with
the press release: http://trinity.etherpad.trinitydesktop.org/37
Making sure the list of news outlets is up to date (and providing Email
addresses) would also be helpful. I am not one who typically consumes
open source news so I'm not sure what the best outlets to submit this to
would be. I would recommend staying away from Phoronix though as they
have a strong pro- Wayland/tablet/phone and anti- traditional desktop
computing viewpoint.
Historically I seem to end up tied up with release-related tasks and have
not been able to get a proper news release out on time (or even at all),
so any help with this is much appreciated!
Thanks!
Tim

Tim,
I made a new rebuild yesterday night (everything except the applications folder) and update the system this morning. I
encountered dependency conflicts in tdepim. For example:
libkcal2b-trinity conflicts with libtdepim1-trinity-dev
I can resolve those by removing 3 packages:
- kipi-plugins-trinity
- libkcal2-trinity-dev
- libkcal2b-trinity
Until 6 days ago (my previous build) no conflicts whatsoever.
Just thought I would let you know. Is it something to be expect due to some recent changes made in between RC1 and RC2?
Cheers

All,
The merge window for TDE R14 RC2 is now CLOSED. Builds for RC2 are
underway and RC2 should be released sometime next week.
I still need to repair a recent FTBFS in the Debian/Ubuntu packaging files
for tdevelop, so there will be one last commit to the tde-packaging
repository soon.
I need a list of news sites to submit the RC2 press release to; also any
help I could get with writing/editing the press release would be greatly
appreciated!
Thanks!
