Alas, your patch does not solve the problem on my computer.

Please, how with this patch? If soon will be built almost entire tree,

I confirm the original problem exists in distros using automake 1.13.
I've not tested patch yet.
I'm confident in the patch, but we need to make sure Ththat it does not
break with older automake versions.
